1. The season shall run from 1st
January to 31st December and will consist of 12 races of varying distances
spread throughout the year.
2. The following competitions shall be included:
(i) 1st 3 Male Teams (5 to
score)
(ii) 1st 3
Female Teams (3 to score)
(iii) First 3 Individual Males
(iv) First 3 Individual Females
(v) First Male (21 -24)
and in each 5 year age group thereafter, (25 -29, 30 -34,
etc.)
(vi) First Female (21 - 24) and in each 5 year age group
thereafter, (25 - 29, 30 -34, etc.)
(vii) Individual Male Under 20
(viii) Individual Female Under
20
(ix) Individual
Male Under 17
(x)
Individual Female Under 17
((xi) 1st Male in each participating club
(xii) 1st Female in each participating club
(xiii) Any Athlete completing all 12 League race in the
year.
3.
Each Club that participates in the
League shall be affiliated to the UKA and the Dorset County AA and pay an annual
membership fee.
4.
Eligibility to compete in the League will be limited to UK
Athletics rules for Competition
Clubs should note UKA rule 221 (2):
“Every scoring runner in an open team race must be a 1st Claim member of the
club he/she is entered to represent”.

All scoring will be based on the
position within each race of runners from competing League clubs.

a. A Runner may not score for more
than one club in the same year.
b. A Runner who changes clubs in accordance with UK Athletics
rules will not be eligible to compete for their new club until the 1st January
following if they have competed for a League club in the current year. They may
do so from 1st January within the waiting period provided both clubs agree and
proot is given to the RR committee of this agreement.
7.
For both individual and team
competitions, the best 7 results will score towards the League. For Under 17s
the best 3 of 4 will count and for Under 21s the best 6 of 11.
8.
a. All runners must comply with the
minimum age requirements in accordance with UK Athletics rules. Races in the
Under 17 and Under 20 competitions are selected to comply.
b. Runners are eligible for the Under
17 competition from their 15th birthday until 31st December following their 17th
birthday.
c. Runners are eligible for the Under
20 competition from January 1st following their 17th birthday until 31st
December following their 20th birthday.
d. Runners are eligible for a
particular age group from the 1st January in the year they meet the minimum age
requirement. For the purposes of the League all senior competitors have
birthdays on January 1st.
e. Runners who do not with to
disclose their age are not eligible for the age group
competition.
9.
i.) In the event of a Tie counting an
individuals 7 best scoring races, the Winner will be decided by
:-
a) Count
back of 7 scoring events.
b) Scores of races where tied competitors have all
competed.
c) If
the results are still tied, the result shall be deemed a tie and all competitors
given equal prizes with the trophy shared.
ii) In the event of a tie combining 7 races for
a team title the winner will be decided by:
a) A count back of race positions i.e. number
of firsts, then seconds etc. This will, if necessary, include all 12
races.
b) A race
in which no Club members of a team competed shall be deemed to have scored
maximum points for that team. (The number of Clubs competing in the League for
the relevant sex).
c) If the results are still tied, the result shall be deemed a
tie and all competitors given equal prizes with the trophy
shared.

League Rules can only be amended if
the amendment is an agenda item and is agreed by a simple majority of clubs
competing in the League.
